South Asian Countries
One of the major government policies is therefore to encourage employment of nationals in the private sector. A related policy is to restrict the employment of expatriates in the public sector. A third policy is to curb the visa trading that encourages the import of workers. One analytical approach to this question is to measure the spatial pattern of fertility decline relative to the geographical location of family planning clinics and aspects of the program that may provide family planning information or contraceptives. The problem with this approach is that the location of family planning clinics may be endogenous, i.e., program resources such as clinics are directed to populations with very high fertility . Moreover, contraceptives are available from nongovernmental outlets such as private clinics and drugstores.
One of the most debated of these relates to remittances—those moneys earned by migrants abroad that are sent to or brought back to the country of origin. There is debate as to the scale and impact of these financial flows but the data relating to them are largely incomplete. Although based on fertility transitions still in process, the findings are consistent with the logic of demographic transition theory, albeit with wide variations in the significance of specific independent variables over time and across countries. A landlocked country located within South Asia and Central Asia with land area of 652,000 km2, Afghanistan is the 41stlargest country in the world. Bilingualism is very common in the country, where the official languages are – Pashto and Dari.
Subsequently, the ASEAN leaders had the Seventh “ASEAN+3” Summit with leaders from China, Japan, and Republic of Korea. During the Summit, ASEAN leaders discussed in particular the latest situation on the Korean Peninsula, the recent developments on terrorism and the issue of Iraq and the Middle East. Mongolia and New Zealand acceded to the Treaty of Amity and Cooperation on 29 July, and Australia followed suit on 10 December. ASEAN signed Joint Declarations on Cooperation to Combat International Terrorism with the Republic of Korea on 27 July and with Pakistan and New Zealand on 29 July. At the 38th ASEAN Ministerial Meeting, ministers encouraged Canada to consider signing the same.
The first known script as Eveyla akuru script, which is found in historical recording of kings. The script used at present is called Thaana, which is said to be introduced during the reign of Mohamed Thakurufaanu and is written from right to left. Asia is the birthplace of all the world’s major religions—Buddhism, Christianity, Hinduism, Islam, and Judaism—and of many minor ones. Of those, only Christianity developed primarily outside of Asia; it exerts little influence on the continent, though many Asian countries have Christian minorities. Buddhism has had a greater impact outside its birthplace in India and is prevalent in various forms in China, South Korea, Japan, the Southeast Asian countries, and Sri Lanka.

Saudi Arabia’s economy is heavily dependent on oil exports, which account for 80 to 90 percent of the country’s total revenues. Saudi Arabia, Iran, and the United Arab Emirates accounted for roughly 57 percent of global liquid fuels production in 2010.
Political Cooperation
The Ministers noted the consultations which had taken place between the ASEAN Working Group on ZOPFAN and the SEANWFZ and the NWS and urged the NWS to accede to the Protocol to the SEANWFZ Treaty as another means of enhancing the regional security environment. ASEAN States and Japan also issued an ASEAN-Japan Plan of Action emphasizing economic, cultural, and security-related cooperation. The ASEAN-Japan Joint Declaration for Co-operation in Counter-Terrorism was adopted at the 8th ASEAN-Japan summit on 30 November. At the ASEAN-Japan Senior Officials Meeting, Japan stated that it would like to advance cooperation with ASEAN in the specific areas of counter-terrorism and nonproliferation of weapons of mass destruction, and the reduction of tension in the Korean Peninsula. The paper addresses the establishment of the SEANWFZ as a means to “contribute towards general and complete nuclear disarmament”, and the creation of the SEANWFZ Commission and its Executive Committee to oversee compliance with the Treaty.
Today, the term “Asia” is used as a cultural concept, while subregion classifications describe the distinct geopolitical identities of the continent. These classifications are Western Asia, Central Asia, Southern Asia, Eastern Asia, Southeastern Asia, and Northern Asia. At their 6th Meeting in Singapore from 23 to 24 July, the ASEAN Foreign Ministers convened the Commission of the SEANWFZ Treaty for the first time. The Commission ordered the preparation of the draft rules of procedure and initiation of all necessary actions in compliance with the Treaty, including consultations with the NWS, the IAEA, and other related bodies.
On 15 November, Thailand deposited its instrument of ratification of the Third Protocol Amending the Treaty of Amity and Cooperation in Southeast Asia . Maintaining peace, stability, maritime security and safety and peaceful settlements of disputes on the basis of international laws. The 46th ASEAN Ministerial Meeting took place from 27 June-2 July in Bandar Seri Begawan, Brunei Darussalam. Prince Mohamed Bolkiah, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Brunei Darussalum, chaired the meeting. At the meeting, parties adopted the Plan of Action to Strengthen the Implementation of the Treaty on the Southeast Asia Nuclear Weapon-Free-Zone, which continued to encourage compliance with the SEANFWZ Treaty and cooperation with the IAEA. The Joint Communique released by the AMM also expressed support for the SEANWFZ Treaty and encouraged transparency in the interests of nuclear safety.
Countries In Asia:
While growth in Pakistan at the end of 2019 was less than projected, a three-year program in conjunction with the International Monetary Fund aimed at stabilization and structural reform is promising to address macroeconomic issues. In the intellectual sector, knowledge on Southeast Asia has been consumed generally by the NGOs, namely, those that are national-based ones as well as those that have regional networks. The strength and success of their operation is very much dependent on the amount of knowledge they have about Southeast Asian societies in general as well as the specific issue that they are focusing on as a cause in their struggle. In the receiving countries, the major thrust of the current policy is to reduce the percentage of expatriates.
However, many governments are trying to enforce boundaries to retain control of technologies. New rules and regulations will be needed to navigate the ownerships and uses of these new technologies. Innovation in artificial intelligence will continue to result in many new industries throughout the twenty-first century.
The facility opened in the late 1950s, when the steppes of Central Asia were part of the Soviet Union. The world’s first artificial satellite, Sputnik 1, was launched from Baikonur in 1957, and the first spacecraft to carry a person into orbit was launched in 1961. Today, the Baikonur Cosmodrome is in southern Kazakhstan, although it is leased to and maintained by Russia. The state-of-the-art facility allows for the launch of both manned and unmanned spacecraft, and is vital to the support and maintenance of the International Space Station . A surge of economic investment, primarily funded by the oil, technology, and pharmaceutical industries, has fueled the development of medium-sized cities into important metropolitan areas.
These conditions mean that empirical tests of the impact of family planning programs on fertility decline are extraordinarily difficult to estimate empirically. The Foreign Ministers of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations convened at the 33rd ASEAN Ministerial Meeting in Bangkok on July under the chairmanship of Dr. Surin Pitsuwan, Foreign Minister of Thailand. The Ministers welcomed the progress made in implementing the SEANWFZ Treaty and noted with satisfaction the establishment of all the various organs under the Treaty and the work undertaken by these organs, including consultations with the International Atomic Energy Agency.
Due to tectonic shifts of the various Pacific plates, strong earthquakes repeatedly occur in these regions, which in turn trigger volcanoes and tsunamis. As the importance of the region increases in the globalizing world, both generalist and specialist knowledge about Southeast Asia become critical to the world and the region itself. In that sense, Southeast Asian studies as a knowledge construct transforms itself into a lived reality, especially for the Southeast Asians themselves.
The language gained its’ official recognition in 1952, when people of Bangaldesh became active to achieve their rights to speak in their mother tongue, which led to the language movement. In tribute to the Language Movement and the ethno-linguistic rights of people around the world, 21st February was declared as International Mother Language Day in 1999. The total area of Asia, including Asian Russia but excluding the island of New Guinea, amounts to some 17,226,200 square miles , roughly one-third of the land surface of Earth. The islands—including Taiwan, those of Japan and Indonesia, Sakhalin and other islands of Asian Russia, Sri Lanka, Cyprus, and numerous smaller islands—together constitute 1,240,000 square miles , about 7 percent of the total. Everyone around the globe relies on natural resources to support their lives as well as their local and national economies. However, not all communities have access to the same kinds of resources in the same amounts.
